SCCA American Road Race of Champions and Enduro races at Road Atlanta
Eric took a side trip to Atlanta after delivering a recently re-freshed 1975 Pontiac Trans-Am to its owner in Alabama. At Road Atlanta (Braselton, GA) Eric competed in the SCCA’s American Road Race of Champions in a Spec Miata Class Mazda Miata in both a sprint and endurance race. Much improvement was made to both car and driver for their first trip at Road Atlanta, and despite a 31st place finish in a 55 car field, Eric said the sprint race was “a great race on a fabulous track”. After some modifications to the car, resulting in a better set-up and more speed, Eric competed in a 3 hour endurance race. Unfortunately, the transmission gave out just after a third of the race distance. Many thanks to Bob, Brenda and Brenda Cleary for making this such a fun and memorable trip. Eric’s eager to do more driving, and looks forward to his next visit to Georgia.
